Numerology · Three traditions

Your name and your date, weighed number by number.

Numerology is the old art of reading number as character — the idea that the letters of your name and the date of your birth reduce to a small set of numbers that say something true about you. Choose a tradition. The Pythagorean count is the modern Western one; the Chaldean is older and reads by sound, keeping the compound number as the omen; the Kabbalistic weighs the name in Hebrew gematria and places it on the Tree of Life.

The system taught in the West since Pythagoras: every letter takes a value from one to nine, and the birth date gives the Life Path. Master numbers 11, 22 and 33 stay unreduced, and the karmic debts 13, 14, 16 and 19 are named where they fall.

Enter your full birth name, a date of birth, or both. The name gives the Soul, Personality and Expression numbers; the date gives the Life Path.

The twenty-two paths and ten sefirot

Read the guide →

In Kabbalah the ten sefirot of the Tree of Life are joined by twenty-two paths, one for each letter of the Hebrew alphabet — the same twenty-two that the Papus and Wirth tarots assign to the Major Arcana. Gematria weighs a name in those letters; reduced modulo twenty-two it names the path a life travels.
